Very different Sav Blanc than I normally drink - I prefer those from the Loire Valley with minerality and little pronounced citrus - this most definitely had a residual oily smell and taste on the first day and a very pronounced taste of muscadine wine on the second. I would try it again.

My first bottle was back in September at a group tasting, and the common sentiment was, “who knew Italy put out Sauv Blanc wth this kind of quality”. Same impression with this bottle. Profound lemon/citrus and a myriad of complex toasty scents. Medium-big body with layers of deep fruit and nutty-earth notes, yet nothing sticks out of the balance. Great stuff. I would introduce this to a devout Chardonnay-lover as a gateway to good Sauvignon Blanc. 5+13+17+8= 93

Light straw. Pungent nose of - what? preserved lemon? There's something grassy or herby in there too. Very dry, very long. This performed well with crab and asparagus risotto, but away from food its acidity seems unbalanced. Fontodi are great winemakers, so I guess they must know what they're doing here. But I don't! 13%, screwcap.
