  • 50% Napa, 50% Sonoma. You never see that on the label anymore. Even if producers are still blending like that, I feel they nowadays just put "California".

Everything that Zinfandel should be - generous and giving. I am really happy to see that this is so alive in 2023. This thing is ALL fruits. And they're not entirely in the cooked/stewed condition either. Over ripe red raspberries, over ripe red cherries and chili powder on the nose. The palate adds some smoked meat, fresh cracked black pepper and the fruits (the same ones from the nose) are MAYBE bordering on cooked, but I'd still call them over ripe. Finishes pretty long, also centered on the fruit. Medium + intensity of both flavors and aromas.

Medium + body, medium acid and low (but not no) tannins. Drink now at age 25. This really went the distance. Would be a good pairing with red meat; but honestly it's delicious by itself too. So Zinfandel. So California.

  • Very nice Zinfandel, fruity nose with hint of tobacco and minerality, well balanced with rich mixed berries, cherries, and a touch of oak to the palate. Long, smooth finish.
