Bottle bouquet was intense with the aroma of black stone fruits. The nose contained said fruits against a backdrop of toasted oak. The sharpness of the nose suggested a very young wine but when tasted the mouth feel was not offensively young. Strong acidity is balanced with intensity of fruit with a long finish that brings in the oak characteristics. I would age this wine five years to enjoy it at its best but today all of the components are in balance and the wine is a fine accompaniment to grilled meats and red sauces with some punch. It's another good example of what this grape can provide in the Livermore appellation, albeit one from the best vineyard, (Ghielmetti), that the valley has to offer.,
