  • Color is about as expected for a Pinot of this age - a touch orange at the rim but still quite pure, light ruby in the center. Nose: redcurrant, cherry, light caramel, cold-brewed green tea, quite brightly mouthwatering, a tiny hint of something sexy. Palate: some fairly grippy tannin up front and into the mid-palate, nicely framing the fruit, nice juicy acidity. Medium body, quite full and persistent on the finish, not exactly filigree but quite pretty and restrained. No rough edges, really nicely made wine. Probably hit its peak in the last year or two, still there, and no huge rush as it's developing some nice complexity with age, but I personally wouldn't keep this more than another 5 years, so as to enjoy the combination of mature and fresh elements. 12.8%, $40.
