A lot of ripe cherry and red berry notes on the palate. Some oaky and dried herb notes too. Medium intense body - quite juicy overall. An interesting way to interpret Lemberger.

Tasting with Weingut Aldinger (Gert Aldinger) (Carpe Noctem Wein Göppingen, Germany): The Bermandel GG opens up with lots of cherry flavors (red&black) in the nose. Besides that you can find some cinnamon, a super fine oak component and just a hint of vanilla. A very deep nose which is dominated by the fruit (at this early stage). On the palate the acidity level is good, maybe a bit more would suits the wine even better (a vintage "problem"). Good tension, power and just lovely to drink. Just a hint of bitterness on the back end. I think this Lemberger will improve over the coming years. Definitely potential. 30% new oak.
