MDW BBQ (Chicago, IL): I'm told there was a point where the nose on this was a bit volatile, but I definitely didn't pick that up. This is pretty textbook chardonnay (in a good way) -- lean and mineral driven, with a touch of yellow fruit on the palate. Seems to show quite a bit of richness -- I'm not sure if that's coming from the oak, batonnage, or a combination -- but it does work nicely with the heightened acids.
