  • Pale yellow color with a bouquet and flavor of pears and what I would call "mustiness," a signature feature of this grape at its best, as exemplified by the wines of Alsace-Lorraine, and very different from the less opulent Italian version. Good balance with nice acidity and a hint of sugar. Some nuance with a moderate finish. Altogether very drinkable, adding to the pleasures of a beautiful fall day on the shores of Seneca and Cayuga Lakes in the lovely Finger Lakes Region, once the home of the Iroguois, whose names mark multiple features and towns of upper New York State.
