No decant. Touch of reduction when opened but this blew off quickly. Californian nose? Blue fruit and a little spice. Really well made. Tannins resolved and very lithe. Superb.

Decanted. Over the first hour this showed as sinple and thin. Then it began to really open up. Light-moderate aromas of red fruits and berries. Moderate+ flavors of red fruits, berries, stems, with a burst of spice followed by a dusty finish that lingers. Suave texture. Medium body. Moderate complexity/long finish. Easy to confuse as a Burgundy, stylistically. Upside over the long term. 91-93.

Tasted in the Cellars at Adelsheim where Nicolas-Jay makes their wine at this time. This wine was tasted from barrel and is mostly if not all Pommard clone. Tannin is quite supple and acidity is medium plus. It is a rich dark ruby color and full of flavor including black cherry, black raspberry and spices. The finish is quite long and full of minerals.

It would be hard to single this out as Oregon if blind. Velvety tannin, good acidity, fruit is just right. Very feminine wine.
