Full, boastful nose of rich berries and plum laced with fig jam, fresh cut florals, smoke and camphor oil. Pure, rich, youthful fruit is approachable and generous and does a good job masking the tannin, which is still gritty but feels to be turning the corner towards silky. Long flavorful finish. Bravo, Luciano.

2017 Piemonte trip for Thuy's 40th!; 10/12/2017-10/15/2017 (Piemonte, Italy): From a beautiful magnum from the cellar of Ciau del Tornavento. We have tried the normal release in the past ( Papies 94 a year ago) and this sort of library release branded "Sibi et Paucis" . This is younger less evolved wine than we remember the normal release , rich dark fruit, cherry, bright and energetic. Will need it's time to develop but it will be special once it does. Love the softer fruit and how well made and elegant this wine is. 93 for now but full of promise.
