Very transparent, with hints of purple, garnet core and tawny edges. The nose is quite complex, with mushrooms, menthol, violets, leather, mossy forest fruits, tobacco, and some sweeter notes of marshmallowey vanilla. Medium bodied, with a nice glycerol quality. Lots of red cherry in the mouth, with a dark toasted oak profile that comes off slightly disjointed and over the top for my personal likes. With the delicate nature of the fruit it just seems to be a touch too much oak. However, this is a very nice expression of the finger lakes terroir and a very enjoyable, food friendly wine.

Finger Lakes Vacation 2018; 9/2/2018-9/7/2018 (Finger Lakes, New York, USA): Tasted at the winery. Floral, cherry, and savory/meaty elements on the nose. Palate is relatively more driven by the high-toned red fruits. Loose-knit structure; medium acid and medium(-) tannins. Approachable but lacks clarity. "Very good," 87/100.

Deeper color. The nose shows ripe aromas of dark red berries, herbs, minerals, oak, spice and a hint of cedar. This is medium bodied on the palate with good concentration and good class. The medium plus length finish features round tannins.

Lovely oak integrated into a vanilla cherry palate. Smooth tannins on the finish.
