Inviting nose, shows promise. Balanced amount of dark cherry and other red fruit before the tannins(big) hit, which last for a while. Disappointingly short finish.
The nose and first few seconds in the mouth have you expecting that experience to continue, only to quickly fade away. Sadly.
So close yet so far. Really enjoy the promise of this wine but it’s a tease. Damn it. Still worth the $13.
👍
Edit - per the previous reviewers, JWILKEY and WHOOSKEYWINE, the wine does improve over time. The fade I mentioned nearly goes away and I can only assume that with more time would be non existent. A seriously tasty wine, causing me to change my rating from an 88 to an 89.

This dark ruby red wine has medium legs and no noticeable sediment in the bottle. It has a light pleasant aroma of cassis, apple, cherry, oak wood, liquorice and vanilla. When first opened and tasted, it displayed a high level of tannin, black currant, blackberry, cherry, liquorice and apple. After about 45 minutes, the wine settled down to a smooth and less tannic taste. The wine has a medium full body with a bright texture, medium acidity and a pleasant, balanced finish.
