Bought from the winery and stored in a temperature controlled cellar.
Absolutely glorious wine. A true classic Napa bottling. Hints of olive and leather, tobacco leaf and dried currants. This wine is right in the sweet spot.

Wonderful nose, I've been expectiNg that moment for quite a while now and I've decided to open it today. Good tannins, a lot of fruit and a good balane. It can still wait a few more years without any doubt.

Due to 'indecision' we had taste off between this wine and a 2003 Joseph Phelps Insignia which we believe is a comparable bottle. Decanted both for an hour and both stood their ground quite well with great colors and flavors. When it came to the meal (Lamb Chops, Haricot Vert, Potatoes Dauphinois) we thought the Semper V was a bit better at cutting thru the fats than the Insignia. Both good bottles and remain our two favorites.

Won drink-off against '06 Vine Cliff 16 Rows. Remains one of our favorites.
