Nose is shy, even after 2 hours of decanting. Fresh raspberries and violet with sweet spices and licorice. Not much depth for the moment, given the very young age. Again palate is quite muted and simple for a Barossa Shiraz. Fresh red fruits and baking spices on the palate, mid-palate is somewhat one dimensional, and finish is watery and short, but tannins are very ripe and fine. This young Shiraz lacks structure, and is perhaps too polite and reserved.
Update: After a full day, the wine opened up more, with more complex mid-palate and finish. Structure is better defined too. Increased by 4 points.
