Mineral driven and acidity loaded Riesling. Grapey nose with notes of petrol lurking. Yellow fruits, crisp and finishes with slightly spicy notes. I am sure it can stay alive for years to come but I am not sure if it would benefit a whole lot from it.

2013 Cave de Turckheim Riesling Brand was ripe, developing well-balanced. The developing Alsatian Riesling was pale lemon in colour without any sediments. There were notes of smoke, petrol and beeswax, with lemon zest, quince and apricot in the background.
The mouthfeel was off-dry and medium-light-bodied, with high level of piquant acidity. The medium finish was accompanied with flavours of grapefruit, honeyed nectarine, mineral oil and a hint of mushroom. The alcohol level was at 12.5%.
According to WineSearcher, Brand is a 58-hectare south and south-eastern facing climat, which is relatively large among Alsace Grand Crus. The soil is predominantly composed of granite. Brand is mostly planted with Riesling (41%), Gewürztraminer (31%) and Pinot Gris (25%). The wines are known for their elegance, balance and subtlety.

Pale yellow in the glass. Nose - Almond, green apple. Taste - Light kiss of honey, dessert apple, apricot, melon, orange peel. Nice dry sappiness. Vibrant, excellent. (drank with garlic chicken)

2013 Cave de Turckheim Brand Riesling was citrus, tart and refreshing. The Alsatian Riesling was clear and pale lemon in colour without any sediments. Freshly opened, it had aromatics of lemon zest, wet stones and subtle mineral oil, and with some aeration in bottle, notes of honey and pineapple developed. On the palate, it was dry and medium-bodied, with high level of refreshing acidity, together with notes of citrus zest and apricot dominating the medium finish. Somehow, I was expecting more complexity and mineral characters based on my experience with previous vintages of this wine. Nevertheless, the Alsatian Riesling showed good typicity with citrus and mineral characters.

Very light and pale yellow. Clean and bright. Delightfully fresh and vibrant. Lychees and pears. Tart, racy, lemony, splendidly enjoyable. Excellent value.
