  • Not a style I gravitate toward, but unquestionably made with impressive skill. The depth of the red and blue fruits is rather amazing and radiates from the core out to the very edges. Great acidity and nice, refined grip. I found it a little boozy on the nose, but the palate couples elegance with intensity and never stops giving. Any fan of big reds would do well to seek this out.

  • A stunning meritage of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc and 20% Petite Sirah. There’s gossamer tannins and grip, with a medium-long finish and plush entry. Plum cake, flower shop, blueberry, cayenne pepper and gravel. Sophisticated and unique, with its own persona and a full body. This reminds me of high elevation Argentina meets Washington Columbia Valley. There’s so much berry throughout. Decanted for an hour. Drink 2020 - 2030

  • Excellent wine. Well made. Why can't we find more of this in California? This was a lone bottle on the very top shelf of K&L, which surprised me. I had been asking for this wine for years, ever since I first tasted in Jerome in 2011.
Fantastic nose of blue and black fruits.
Palate held lush blackberry and black cherry with complex spices that took 3 hours to really shine. It seriously morphed into drink that I didn't want to put down. Kept coming back. It was soft and filled my mouth with perfect balance and natural acid had me marveling at this coming from southern Arizona fruit.
I used to hop the rocks at Cochise Stronghold, so it was a trip drinking this most excellent wine.
This was better than 90% of what I taste from Cali. If this were from Napa we'd be paying $250 instead of $45.
The guy is right, read his website about pleasing generally vs. profoundly. His hard work is evident in this bottle.
I would say there’s 5-10 good years in this vintage.
Initially it was tight, but it only took 3 hours to really shine.

Submerged cap fermentation, learning from Barolo masters. Now, that's what I like to see.
