  • From memory of last night. By the bottle at Mountain Top Inn in Chittendon, VT. Pnp. Very California Pinot. Red fruits, jam, oak, ripe, medium-low acidity. Not my thing but it was only $40 on the menu and judging from the rest of this this was the best I could have hoped for.

  • NobleRottersSydney - Blind Options something unusual (Fix, St James, Sydney): {cork, 13.9%} [DavidH] The nose just screams pinot noir, although it has a real strawberry jam sweetness to it, along with generous oak. There are some medium dusty tannins to give the palate some structure, but the acidity isn’t quite there. There’s some compost edge to the sweet jam fruit; a little development. Although pleasant, I think repeated glasses would cloy a bit. Can’t see cellaring helping either. Drink up.

  • A cooler climate style Pinot from California. Plenty of cherry, dark raspberry, dried earth and a touch of spice on the nose. The palate is rich, nicely textured and well balanced with plenty of concentrated dark and red fruits with a decent amount of complexity in the lengthy finish. A good Pinot Noir drinking well now with 5 years of age. The acidity is very well done keeping this fresh. Cambria make some really decent, good value wines.

  • Lots of 90s and lots of mid-80s scores on this one; I think this is just a style preference. I love brighter, Burgundian Pinot and this is more in that style — and a steal at $15.
