4th Saturday Brown Bagger (EBCC): Our final bottle, served double blind to the group. Opens with melon and orchard fruit notes with a waxy undertone. Rich and layered, with softened fruit tones and acidity. Nicely balanced, with a medium finish. Perhaps a bit four square on its own, but I think this would do very nicely at the table with poultry or fish.

This wine is gold in the glass with an evident viscosity. On the palate the wine is heavy with an oily mouthfeel. It’s rich and unctuous. Deep stone fruit and banana are most evident up-front, but then mushroom and an ashy note comes forward and remains into the finish.

95% Roussanne and 5% Viognier. Pale color with notes of melon and minerals. Abundant fruit on the palate with a nice richness. Excellent.
