Another cracking Barossa Shiraz ….the 2004 Kilikanoon premium tasting Box my wife bought for me in 2006 has proven to be a gem. Great dark fruit, spicy and a lovely texture.

drank 40 minutes after decanting. Very fragrant nose with cedar and woodsy notes, a little metallic, almost a little burnt rubber. Ripe and jammy with toasty oak. Drinking really wonderfully.

P&P. Starting to show some age, this had a slightly porty aspect to it. Massive black fruit (cherry, plum) with fresh ground pepper, espresso, and vanilla. Enjoyable wine for sure. Drink now - 2024.

Opened this wine at Royal Pavilion last night for an Year End celebration.
Still dark purple in colour despite 14 years of age. Inky, wild violets, rich, ripe plums plus
Smooth, silky with the tannins mostly dissolves at this stage. Graceful and charming, the wines supposing wild energy is tamed and balanced with dark coffee, chocolate, black fruit tarts and some creamy notes.
On the whole, the wine delivers a very pleasurable drinking experience.
