Deep dark purple red, with a young nose of dark brambly blue and red fruits, flowers, hint of spice and tobacco. This Jumilla red is on the higher end of medium-bodied, fairly well-structured, balance with a bit of tannic edge but eventually faded by the second day, easy drinking and very food friendly especially when paired with a Spanish fare. The flavor components of this Monastrell is dominated by sweet blue and red dried fruits, dried flowers, a bit of tobacco smoke, a fleeting minerality and a slightly savory edge. Though the alcoholic component is surprisingly well-integrated and not obvious on the palate, however, I could certainly feel the effects of the 14% as indicated on the label. Aside from this, the wine is truly a remarkable deal in terms of quality vs. price. Needless to say, this is a very enjoyable wine especially on day two.

Black tea, red fruit, light hints of cedar. There is an unexpected elegance and refinement.

Really great bang for the buck on an everyday red - ripe red fruit up front with a long dry finish. Really shines with food - pizza, pasta, beef.
