  • Very nice, still youthfull. Pungeant gunpowder in the scent whixh lingered for an hour, never fully receding. Beneath fresh lemons, yellow apples and smooth vanilla and nuts. Fresh and lemon driven with restrained oak, leaning towards Puligny in style. Acidity still quite harsh, think this one has at least a decade of evolution if no premox (nothing implying at this stage). Will wait at least 5 years for next bottle - 2014s seems to be for the long run.

  • Sampling the December 8, 2017 new releases (små partier) from Systembolaget (Systembolaget, Stockholm): Incredibly luxurious oak treatment. The nose draws you in. So much stuff is happening, but there's also some very green notes. So much acidity it feels like someone is pulling at my teeth. Should be excellent in years to come, right now it takes second place to the Billaud Vaudèsir tasted side by side, as the new oak and the vibrant acidity is not fully integrated at this stage. • Clear, medium intensity, lemon-green color.

Youthful but open and expressive nose. Lots of toasty, spicy, expensive oak right off the bat. Yellow apples, green pear, fresh cut lemon, cap gun smoke, toasted pine nuts and creamy lees comes through after a while in the glass.

Very dry, high acidity and medium body. Rich and creamy mouthfeel with very good intensity. Green apple, yellow plum, baked pear and creamy lees coming through. The oak seems more integrated on the palate adding just a nutty, toasty feel. Long, lingering finish with a slight bitterness to the very end.

Great wine but needs a couple of years to settle down and let the oak sink in.
