Smooth as ever. Aromas are jammy, blackberry, blueberry, with an ever so slight sweet hint of vanilla bean. Tastes of all the red fruit, cola, smooth on the palate, short finish. I decanted for at least an hour and it feels decent, but probably not worth the price tag.

Full day decant Dark and brooding. Lots of oak and vanilla on the nose. Blueberry pie. Thick and unctuous. A little blueberry pancake syrup. Cocoa. Medium plus finish. Not a bad wine, which paired nicely with slow cooker rib roast. Looking forward to my next bottle in a couple of years. Should improve with some additional cellar time.

On PnP this is an oaky mess, minimal definition of flavors, but after a little of time the oak does fade and notes of the Syrah predominate. For a bottle that is representing the BBS of the prisoner wine company I am disappointed particularly for the price point (even although I got at a discount). 89 - second night and still predominately oaky with Syrah taking the front end, some eucalyptus, heavy fruit, but some darker notes and heavy alcohol. Drinks better on day 2 - but still disappointed.
