14.2% alcohol. Keith's note is quite on here. This has lost a lot of its flesh and primary fruit, but the fruit has seemed to recede. I found this incredibly elegant and light, with a pretty structure and quite streamlined. It's texturally very pleasant, with appealing floral notes. But the fruit is in the background, having faded but not been complemented by secondary notes. B

This was such a pretty wine when it came out but holding it in the cellar may have been a bit of wishful thinking on my part. The fruit has turned blacker in pitch now and thinned out its flesh enough to show a few cracks in the veneer, letting the alcohol poke through. It still feels well-put together with finely knit tannins. You would never confuse the fruit here for anything but a California pinot, but it has a streamlined body that the more extreme examples don't; it was just better enjoyed for its primary fruit because it doesn't seem like there's much else that's going to come out of it.

14.2% alcohol. This is absolutely stunning wine. Black cherry color. Profound nose of black cherry, baking spice, rich earth, flowers, and minerals. The bouquet is layered and complex, having come together in glorious harmony. In the mouth, laser-like, concentrated, balanced, and pure but also quite intense. Red and black cherry flavors pop with juicy happiness, backed up quickly by spice, earth, and a prominent floral note. Mineral-lined acidity leads to a vigorous, long finish. This wine is just gorgeous, and it will continue to evolve. A

Slightly floral nose with fresh laundered linen, spice, and a slightly tarry asphalt note. Lightly bodied yet lush with red cherry and strawberry fruit, finishing with firm tannins and a cinnamony spice kick. Paired perfectly with penne in spicy red sauce with reggiano and arugula--which isn't usually a Pinot dish. Damn fine wine.

14.2% alcohol. Developing nicely and drinking well, if still on the youthful side. Bright red color reflects the bright red fruit in the nose, along with a floral, spice, and earth component. In the mouth, linear and pure, with excellent red fruit and tightly wound complexity. Fantastic acidity and a long finish that provides an additional burst of fruit. At the very beginning of its drinking window. A-
