  • Nose: Citrus fruit along with some zest, little bit of straw/hay, slight florals and some minerals, a touch of sweet honey and some fruit pits.

Palate: Slight honeyed pear with a strong, bitter steely minerality and savory river rocks.

Medium yellow. Off-dry with no tannin. Medium-plus body with medium acidity. Good finish of about 13-14 seconds. It's sweet but not as sweet as others may have noted (to me at least), rather there is a lot of strong and savory minerals. On the front it started off a little heavy and almost flat, but with some time in the glass it becomes a little prickly. The middle is where the fruit shows most and the finish is where the minerals show the strongest. Something about the sweetness of this, the density and the bitter minerality is not working well together for me on this. Still good effort though.

Other notes: No decant, time in glass only. Bordeaux glass. Served ~55°+ and enjoyed over the course of 1 hour.

  • Unlike other reviewers who found this too sweet, I found it rather austerely dry. Perhaps the sweetness faded some in my bottle. I did not expect sweetness, but I did hope for a better balance of acid and fruit. This is, nevertheless, a nice, brisk AGC, but not as distinguished as others I've had. It does have a certain subtle complexity.

  • Clementine and candied lemon notes on the nose are joined by Opal apple, peach and honey on the palate. A hint of diesel bubbles to the surface, and just enough acidity helps to balance the long, off-dry finish. Lots going on here, albeit a touch sweeter than I'd like.

  • This is just a little too sweet for my taste in the Alsace Riesling category. That having been said it certainly was good if your tastes align with it. I just prefer my Alsace Rieslings to be extremely dry,
