A beautiful golden colour. The nose shows citrus and butter. The palate confirms the buttery, citrus, flavours but adds nuts (hazel nuts?) and gentle oaky character and some developing minerality. It became richer and more complex as it warmed and opened. Good acidity with lovely balance and great length. Burgundian elegance with New World hints. Very good (alone and with food) and it got better with time. It is an expensive bottle in UK.

Citrus fruit on the nose with almost toasty character (but only as it warmed). Pronounced lemon flavour with lemon zest and lemon curd flavours. The fruit developed more tropical notes and became ‘sweeter’ as it warmed and opened over a couple of hours. Much better above fridge temperature. Soft, buttery oak with good acidity and some minerality on the late palate. Quite long with perhaps a hint of melon at the end. More restrained than I remember from previous tastings but a wine to sit with as it develops and becomes rounder in the glass - not a wine that shows all at first sip. Excellent with pan-fried halibut (with and without Hollandaise sauce). I agree with the previous review in many respects, not least the importance of time (after opening) and temperature. I also got the marzipan/almond stone flavours after 3h and when closer to room temperature. A class act 92+

Big, expansive aromas of marzipan and vanilla. Absolutely lovely fragrance. Huge body - unctuous and generous, elegant restraint on the oak, rich white fruit (apricots and in fact coconuts) and a zesty, racy acidity. We had this not quite cold enough so we finished it later during dessert at the right temperature, and it had gained much more definition and precision. Temperature is so important! This is a very good Chardonnay.
