I have to echo what Darius Koenig said in the last review. This was a very interesting wine. You can tell it’s a bit older, but great flavors as described. We got a very little bit of green pepper on the nose in addition.

Whoa, this was one intriguing wine. On opening, a strong earthy funk on the nose. This did not go away over two days. But it brought more interest rather than being a distraction. Day one drinking: initially a lot of forest mushrooms, drying tannins present, very herbaceous. After 30 minutes in the glass fruit starting to show up, dried tart cherry. Day two more of the same, its expression did not really evolve a lot, more smokiness, a bit of coffee at the back palate, copper penny on the front. I first thought this had reached its apex and was in early decline as I perceived the wine to be on the thin side lacking much structure but after seeing how well it held up I think it still has a few good years of life left.

Wonderful nose! Taste is disappointing...thin and simple...lacking structure. Nez de caoutchouc, d'encre, de fumé...allumette, fruits noirs et rouges...baies, et sous-bois...très beau ! Son fruit est vert...griotte assez prononcée ainsi que son acidité. Les tannins sont très fins. Mince et simple...déséquilibré ? Finale moyenne.
