Merlot from the general area of Pomerol. Nice berry and earthy notes. Its tough these days to find a decently priced Merlot (Thank you Sideways. NOT.) and this falls into that small group. With fine tannins and dark fruit still playing around. Better on day two. I have several more bottles and looking forward to their development.

PNP - Decent every day drinking wine. Expected little more from this area even if it wasn’t a great vintage. Finish fades rather quickly. Will try again tomorrow and see what changes it has in store.

Although a year older than the La Vaisinerie it drank younger with more fruit and less earthiness. Table was mixed on which was preferred.

Needs a lot of time to open up but the tannins remain fairly harsh. Needs to pair with food. Hoping for some improvement
