  • Where can I buy more of this wine!

In the heart of California's Napa Valley, amidst the rolling vineyards and under the tender caress of the sun, lies a winery that weaves stories in every bottle - Amici Cellars.

I'm not kidding, this wine....is not just a vintage; it's a love affair waiting to be savored, an echo of passion that resonates through time and had me wondering about 2014, where I was on tour, yes Latin America ahhhh.

As a hopeless romantic, I found myself entangled in the symphony of flavors and the poetic narrative that this wine offered, reminiscent of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, a composition that, like love, transcends the boundaries of time and space.

This is a romantic wine....and paired well with pheasant and bone in ribeye....

But as I write this, like a secret whispered by the vines, this wine embodies the essence of romance. The deep, garnet hue of the wine in the glass mirrors the intensity of emotions that come with love – profound and all-encompassing. With the first sniff, the aroma tantalizes the senses; notes of dark cherries, intertwined with hints of vanilla and cedar, waft through the air, promising a tale of depth and complexity. Each swirl in the glass feels like a dance, a prelude to the grand symphony that is about to unfold.

Just like a maiden, this wine will change from 1 hour decant to 3 hours....

Upon the first taste, the wine caresses the tongue like a lover's gentle kiss. The flavors, like love letters written in the language of grapes, reveal themselves in layers. Rich blackberries mingle with velvety cocoa, creating a decadent sensation that is both indulgent and familiar, like a cherished memory of an embrace. The tannins, firm yet supple, wrap around the taste buds, leaving a lingering trail of desire. Every sip is a chapter in a love story, a narrative that unfolds with grace and intensity.

As a hopeless romantic, my senses often seek refuge in the world of art and music, where emotions find expression in melodies and harmonies. Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, a masterpiece that has stood the test of time, mirrors the depth and passion found in the Amici Cellars 2014 Cabernet. The first movement, with its hauntingly beautiful piano notes, resonates with the same intensity that I felt while sipping this remarkable wine.

Listening to Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata as I indulged in the Amici Cellars 2014 Cabernet was an experience that transcended the ordinary. The melancholic yet deeply romantic tones of the Sonata echoed the wine's complexities, each note a reflection of the intricate layers of flavors in the glass. In those moments, it felt as if I were transported to a grand ballroom, with the music enveloping me like a lover's arms, and the wine, a elixir of passion, fueling my senses.

note to self: decant one hour, then finesse, but the last glass was the best. The bouquet that hits you with those Texas legs oh my....

  • Short decanted, a bit linear and laking complexity (which they are synonymous). Not a great QPR.

  • Spicy , lots of taste explosion on initial pour. Becomes softer, smoother after a while. Excellent wine. 96
