A fine wine, but it turns out terroir is much more important than the vigneron. Think I paid about $30 for this, and that is what is about what it is comparable with. It certainly isn't DRC. That said, I thought this was still on the upslope--but pretty close to top. I didn't get any bruised fruit or oxidized notes that made me think I should drink these up. It was still going strong after four days in the fridge with plenty of acid and fruit. Think there is Oregon chardonnay I'd rather drink if this is more than $30. Think there is German GG I'd rather drink over either at $30.

I’ve had maybe 5 bottles of this. This wine is certainly at peak. It was exotic, round and opulent from the get go. My best one was the first in 2019 that shone brightly with extended aeration. Every subsequent bottle has been a little more oxidized, but still with a lot of class. It is time to drink them, guilt free, with a roast chicken or poulet á La crème

A far cry from what this was on release, not at all premoxed but it is developing some apple juice flavors. Quite a few 2016s have shown signs of early maturity and this is no exception.

Medium nose intensity with notes of honeysuckle, nut, vanilla, lemon, pear. Medium+ acidity.
