Showing signs of bricking. Lots of glycerin. Smells somewhat herbaceous (bell pepper) with chalky tannins. Not much fruit left. Kind of sweet on the attack, Lots of bell pepper. Tannins are mostly resolved. Fairly tart acidity. A bit of alcohol heat on the finish. My initial impression is that this wine is cracking up. The fruit has dropped out and not a whole lot left from an enjoyment standpoint. Kind of disappointing. 90 pts.
DAY 2: I poured this into 2 375s. After being disappointed last night, I was about to dump the rest, but I poured it and tasted it. Low and behold, a massive transformation in 24 hours. It is amazing what a little slow O'ing can do. (Slow O in the sense of being poured into a bottle and being given a dose of oxygen) Anyway, Now the wine is showing much more rich and balanced. The herbaceousness has faded into the background. The fruit has come to the fore. The acidity is not as bright. 93 pts.

Delicious, deep rich big but balanced wine with a silky richness around a mouth watering mid and finish

Deep purple and still drinking quite young, but ver balanced...A rich, textured wine that was eminently drinkable and still evolving
