  • Colour: Medium plus ruby, brownish, and opaque with legs, with a wide translucent rim.

Nose: This is very fruit forward on the nose with dried raisins, blackberries, along with peppery spices. The oak is also quite present with hints of vanilla, but not necessarily overpowering the fruit.

Palate: On the palate, it actually differs somewhat from the nose, in that there are a lot more earthy, leathery tones. The dried raisins are quite present along with black cherries and blackberries, and finishes with the typical peppery notes and a bit of savouriness. The tannins are quite grippy with a medium plus finish.

Overall, this is quite lovely and decently complex. There is a bit of heat towards the finish; I do taste the alcohol a bit as well.
