Well I didn't end up waiting that long, but no regrets. Slightly more perfume to the fruit, but this has settled in an elegant place. Very classical in every way, and while nothing to get too excited about, really captures the essence of Nebbiolo beautifully.

This felt more like my note from August this year. Lovely nose showing Barbaresco typicity, though there was something just slightly reticent about everything, from the fruit to the secondary characteristics. Tannin and acid stucture is beautiful, but lacking the elegant oomph I've gotten on better bottles of these. Will wait a bit longer to open the next.

Clearly there is bottle variation aplenty with this wine. Both the nose and palate were open in this bottle - and singing! Lush, intense dried cherries, truffles, some dried flowers. There's a lot of 'dried' things here, but they come together holistically and really pounce on both your nose and palate. Nothing rich here, just well honed, expressive, and open. Needed a good 3 hr decant to reach this state.

Nose was a bit more lively here - classic Nebbiolo acetone accented cherry with some savoury flashes. Palate is elegant, with a pronounced dried leaf and tobacco note on the back palate. Rather lean in structure, there are ample tannins and acid. Very dignified, but things were a bit more exciting a few years ago. Not declining, but in a rather pleasant stasis.

A rather muted nose of dried flowers and prunes, but my god the palate is not muted at all. Needs a good decant, but with a few hours of air you have high toned morello cherry, violets, prunes, truffles, and dried leaves. Incredible structure with firm tannins and good line of acid. Really persistent and has a lean power to it.
