Intense purple color, dark berry fruits, black and blueberries, dark currants with some plum. Full-bodied appearance but mid weight on the palate with some tannins. A good midweek wine for a fair price locally. 90+ approaching 91 points.

Probably gifted from my brother-in-law at a Swiss investment bank, because I prefer mostly European and South American wines, and he prefers mostly California, Oregon and Washington wines. Anyhow, the nose is a little difficult to zero on because we have mesquite wood from the ranch in south Texas burning in the pit for steaks. Nose is very subdued for Cali. . . dark fruits, a little on the dried cherry and blackberry side of the house. On the mouth it screams pencil lead which is not too strong, melting into cherries and blackberries. It's decent on the back palate. It tastes like it might age Pauillac-like, but who knows. The tannin is still reasonably tight, so it's got a few years of life yet in the cave before it peaks. If I see some I'll probably grab it and throw it in the back of the cellar to see what happens.

This just smelled really nice. We drank one 6 months ago that we enjoyed. Bottle number 2 was fantastic. So glad we bought a few. Fruit, blackberry pie? Baking spice, Hint of cocoa, rich but not too creamy.

dark ruby colored, with black currant nose. palate - full bodied and balanced. Flavor - is heavy with black currant notes of black pepper and oak, with hints of plum. The finish is dry with mild tannins that fade away nicely.
