This wine is stupidly good for 28 years old. Well, 27.5 years old. Whatever. Almost no bricking on the edges, tons of fruit and an impeccable balance of acid, fruit, and tannins make for a lovely aged Washington wine. The finish sails on and on, and evolves even more. Wish I had more of this one. I have a 1994 still, but this one sets the bar high enough I don't want to open the '94...

Pours a dark garnet with the slightest hints of bricking. A half hour in the decanter starts to open up the nose with plums, new leather, raspberry, and woody herbs. The palate brings the cab leather with dark fruit and a hint of aged complexity. Those Red Mountain tannins are still all too happy to show up on the finish, but they’re in check and the acidity is in line with the fruit. Overall, a better bottle than my last and one with time ahead of it. Drink now- 2025ish.

Took a few hours in the decanter to open. Still tight and tannic, with a fairly lean palate showing a little age. Showed better with food. This is probably on its downhill slope.

Plum, spicy and firm tannins. This second bottle was decidedly better than the last.

Still decent but you can taste the age, slightly funky.
Robust tannins, purple/violet flowers on the nose and balanced fruit.
