  • Huh. Found this lost bottle during a clean up. Beautiful nose with wild blackberries and cherry blossom with some r-rated sweat underneath. A bit on the basic side - which isn't a slam - with fruit veering into Euro confectionary. Nice acids frame it out. Short finish with some Fernet elements. A lot of fun here!

  • Medium to medium deep color.
Sweet nose. Aniseed, vanilla, red berry & peppermint.
Soft fleshy entry with some richness although the wine lacks saturation and concentration.
It's short and lacking structure. Flavors a mix of spice (pepper), dry herbs and some weedy aspects.

  • Notes are from night two of being opened. This is all about purple. Inky purple color, purple pit fruit, purple berries, and purple flowers mark this wine. On the nose, it showed a beautiful bouquet of purple flowers, sage, savory smoked herbs. On the palate it showed sappy fruit covered in more herbs showing a kiss of oak on the finish. The last glass showed the best with more bacon fat, and cured meats on the mid palate. Shows the potential to gain a few points in the years to come. I'm a fan!

  • 2018 Passover Seder Wines (Our home): Yes, not Kosher for Passover, but we served it anyway. After all, it is our wine (and so, this is probably a biased tasting note). These bottles had been opened 60 hours prior to serving as I knew this was young. Still needed more air or cellar time. Purple in color. The nose has black raspberries, slight black pepper and a hint of bacon fat. On the palate, good acidity, black cherry and black raspberry fruit. Nice finish. Worked well with food. This is a cooler climate Syrah that needs about 3 to 5 more years IMO. I don't score the wines officially as it would be biased but if I was, let's say 92 with some possible upside. Again, this is a biased review.
