Clear, light gold, peach and flowers on the nose. Has some weight in a good way. Nice personality - especially in the $20s. Will explore this producer some more.

13% alcohol. The colour is sustained gold. The fizz has fine bubbles but it is not abundant. At times there seems to be next to no activity in the glass, but the bubbles nevertheless explode in your mouth. The nose has enough yellow fruit to show that this is not from Champagne (says he with the sure footedness of someone who has seen the label). In the mouth, the wine is bone dry but not in an agressive way. Some grapefruit skin in the finish. Very interesting, and more complex as the temperature rises a bit. Not interchangeable with Champagne, but a viable alternative certainly.

Gentle, fine carbonation. Smells like apples and sheep, but in a good way. Gets better on the palate, with lots of salinity and brothy savouriness, together with ample, crisp, tangy, lemony acidity. Nice and dry. Tasty/moreish, full of character, and a good value.

Finishes kind of sweet, which I wasn't expecting, not sure on the dosage here.
