Pinot Noir Night 2nd Installment (Extra Space): Tasted blind. Pop and pour and drank over 2 hours. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour with garnet at the rim. Legs. Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of mushrooms, earth, and red fruit - cherry and strawberry. Developed. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol, dry slightly puckering medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavor intensity, with flavours of mushrooms, earth, red cherries and strawberries. Long finish. It could be the warmth of the room (the air-con wasn't great) or just more air - there was a phase where the wine lost the bright acidity and seemed to take on a more subdued and dark character. We plonked the bottle in the fridge for resuscitation. The bright acidity did return, but the fruit flavor was now a little more blueberries and dark cherries. Sweet licorice/candy core. Nice mushroom aroma persistent. I had a hard time guessing this one. It had an Old World nose, but a rather sweet fruity New World palate. Good quality. Very nice drinking now already. Will not get any better with further age.

Medium light ruby. Red berries and strawberries nose. Fairly concentrated berries and strawberries body - a little closed 1st night. Not a blockbuster - more elegant but with concentrated fruit still. 89-90 points. 2nd night: more open, but also starting to fade 3rd night: clearly faded and higher acids.
