Decanted. Bright, black-garnet color with clear-ruby edges. Aromas of black cherry & currant, smoked paprika, black tea, cracked peppercorn, mesquite char and clove. Deep and concentrated on the palate, with blackberry and plum fruit emerging, along with seamless secondary five spice, rosemary & violet, leather and cedar. Refined and polished, well-integrated and medium-to-full in weight, expansive. Cool-toned acid and fine round tannins, finishing with lengthy zesty black fruit. Excellent, still youthful.

Blind Tasting of Central Coast Syrah with a ringer: Notes of black cherry, dried rosemary & sage, leather, tapenade and dried florals. Nicely layered savory depth on the palate with appealing density showing some finesse and elegance. Fruit emerging in the middle. Thick fleshy tannins, with good length.

Better than average but nothing special. Too spoiled?

A bit dry but not heavy tannins. Fruit is speaking but not jammy
