Haven't had this wine since it was released and it has changed considerably, probably past its prime, but still boasts a wonderfully complex bouquet of dark red fruit, wood, earth-like loamy note, bit of white pepper, subtle spice, a vein of minerality along with some other notes that are difficult to capture. It retained much of its ruby color with distinct bricking on the edge. Mid-weight, some acidity remained, but I found the finish disjointed. As I recall this is all Garnacha from fairly old vines -- it was a bit of a monster on released, but now its mellow and an interesting sipper, but I would definitely not wait any longer to pull the cork on this one.

Seattle Tasting Group does Spanish wines (Seattle, WA, USA): The first bottle opened was badly corked, but fortunately JasonD was carrying a spare which he quickly opened. The dense nose shows raspberry, chambord and flowers. Holy crap, the palate is high octane with huge alcohol yet vibracy and intensity. This shows a bit too much heat, but it has nice structure and carries it pretty well.

This is a big wine but i was surprised by its sense of balance. Thick and chewy but not overbearing

Big, sweet, hot country wine with power but little sophistication. Made good pizza wine
