  • orange wine that confounds and delights… golden amber colour in the glass with mild viscosity.

very closed up nose, initially offering only the woody scent of an aged pisco (minus the alcohol)… but as it opened ripe flowers, tangerine and apricot notes filed the glass, setting the expectation for something fruity and juicy in the palate…

…but not quite. the mouthfeel is very full, with fairly high and somewhat tannic acidity relegating the tropical fruit flavours to the back, where they linger on a rather long finish. not as refreshing as other orange wines i've had — which invite quaffing on a hot day — but overall more satisfying and excellent when paired with fish dishes (raw and cooked).

drank over a couple of days, the wine continued to evolve and delight…
