Took to Birchrunville for Priscilla bday w Gurn and Whitney Erin and Bill The wine was tight in the beginning but opened up well. It became smooth with lovely flavors of dark fruit, eucalyptus and sweet rose.

60 minute decant. Nose shows brambly dark fruits, mocha, cedar, dark chocolate, and charcoal. Rich and sweet palate of black fruits, blackberry, black cherry with notions of espresso, dates, and mocha with some acidity running through it. Thick, fat tannins loaded with mountain earth flavors, iron ore, dried herbs, and fresh thyme and mint delivering a long, lingering finish.

My final wine of our 1 day event in CO......pnp'd to a great, rich black fruited nose. Dark purple in the glass and heavy weighted in the mouth. Rich, without being overly sweet and confectionary. Very well integrated and balanced and performed extremely well over 6 hours of convo, eating and drinking, never falling apart. For a while there I think N wanted to sleep with the bottle under her pillow as she really enjoyed it! So happy to have all these wines perform so well this evening for everyone, as this was nearly a dead heat for WOTN for me personally along with the Arietta......a great afternoon/evening event!

I understand why someone would like this, but it tasted like grape juice and blackberry pie filling. Just nothing there for me at all.
