  • Organic Chardonnay from old vines (planted between 1974 and 1986) on poor limestone soil that are rich in minerals (basalt, quartz, porphyry, slate) sitting around 320 meters above sea level.Nothing has been added nor taken off the wine beside a small amount of SO2 at bottling. Fermentation took place in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and malolactic has been left to undergo naturally.
The wine shows a classic youthful white golden colour with subtle perfumes of white rose, lemon blossom, white peach, ripe apricot, a touch of pear skins and a pleasant polished concrete minerality. Also the palate behaves very gently without being overly textural carrying flavour of juicy peach, meyer lemon and soft pear character. It would benefit of few more years in bottle to round up even more considering that the acidity is still very lively as feels like that malo hasn't gone through 100%; on both nose and palate those classic butter and cheesy notes are hiding behind the rest of the aromas. Overall a very satisfying wine considering it was supercheap ($12). Another little gem from this stunning valley and from an awesome collective of producer that are called Dolomitici! Keep up like this.
