I would've bet that this is mostly Merlot but apparently it's mainly Cabernet Sauvignon from Cold Creek Vineyard instead. Round, plush, and less candied than anything else I've had from Jamie Waters. 14.5% ABV.

Incredible wine. Aromatic, flavorful, balanced and food friendly. Decanted and enjoyed with a chargrilled Ribeye, mushrooms and Brussels sprouts. Head and shoulders better than most of the excellent wine I’ve enjoyed from Washington State the last couple of years…that means something as much of what I’m seeing from Washington is equal to or better than some of what’s coming out of Napa at far better pricing.

21 Grams Vertical: 2005-2016. (Home, Portland OR): 21 Grams Vertical: 2005-2016. This was my wine of the night, just edging out the 2006 with more freshness of flavor. Cassis, green pepper, spice and oaky vanilla all wrapped up in a nice package of acidity and tannin. All is in harmony here, with nothing out of place or in your face. Just an outstanding, delicious wine. I may have to hunt down more of this one.

Paired with a (disappointing) coq au vin, so maybe scored harshly
Ripe blackberry, firm spice notes, smooth firm tannins
