Straits Wines - Fratelli Wine Dinner (Yantra): A nose that is heavily dominated by dark peat smokes that are reminiscent of what I smelt in the air with the Indonesian fires. I had gotten confirmation that it was the work of the unique terroir at which the vines are grown - soils of pH > 8!!! The palate was comparatively light with touches of sour cherry and grass, a rather simple one. But this wine seemed to go very well with the buttery spicy goodness of North Indian curry. Like the Italians, a wine made to go with the local cuisine
