  • At CDT, no notes taken. Next up was the 2016 Domaine Ponsot Chambolle Musigny Les Charmes delivering mainly red crunchy fruits with some black to round out the profile. These were more in the currant, pomegranate, orange rind, sour cherry coupled with some earthy goodness with laser acidity to keep things fresh. The nose was much better than the palate as the acidity over powered the more elegant profile. Not sure how this drank at release, if there was enough fruit to balance things out, but today’s showing was an out of balance acidic wine with too soft a profile to bring it all together. If I owned, I would hold for 6-8+ years in order for the acid to come down allowing this feminine wine, surprising in this vintage, to round out a bit.
