After breathing for an hour it softened up a bit. I may be spoiled as I'm a member of several wine clubs that specialize in Zins, they also average about $30. For $10 this is a great deal. The essence of fine red wine is that it should never shock the palette due to above-normal acids or harsh tannins. With much less-expensive red wine, it can be the lack of time in the bottle for the acid and tannin to soften and thus the wine is technically undrinkable. By contrast, this wine was blended and has had adequate time to achieve drinkability. It may likely even improve with more time. (1880 views) | |
