Very dark color, ruby rim with high extraction. Very deep and dark fruits on the nose, some minerality, some barrique baking spices... background carmenere roasted pepper notes. On the palate moderate acidity, a very broad and fleshy midpalate, nice transition into a low to moderate amount of very ripe tannin that is very well integrated. Balanced wine (soft elements slightly exceed hard elements) with average length, good complexity, great intensity... not a ton of finesse, pleasantly textured wine that has very good expression of place without being to menthol-y Maipo like. Really nice bottle of Carmenere that is at its peak and great value for the $15 or so I paid for it... this is one of the top 5 Carmenere bottlings from Chile year in year out from one of the most exciting wineries/winemakers there, worth checking out.

Big mulberry and bilberry nose with a somewhat vegetal edge. Very mouthfilling with a sizeable structure and very grippy tannins on the finish. A good example.
