Last bottle and I haven't been impressed. Light weight with plenty of cola, this wine seems to be in an existential struggle. On the one hand, I get tons of toasted oak, but on the other, it is borderline thin with high acid. It just can't pick a lane, thus just can't make anyone happy. Just not very good.

Not a fan. It’s light, but soft and somewhat milky on the palate, with bruised, almost oxidative berry fruit and acrid barrel flavors that dominate. Does not resemble Pinot or good wine in general. Maybe an off bottle. All fruit from the Sangiacamo Vineyard, 10% whole clusters that spent 10 months in 30% new barrels.

Bright and racy aromas upon opening, with an almost effervescent feel on the tongue. Settled down over the next hour or so. Strawberries and white pepper on the nose. Garnet color with a significant edge of clear rim (in line with somewhat elevated alcohol). Simple, bright pinot flavors, a bit of pepper later, and not a lot of tannin. Medium-length finish. Not a super compelling value at $18, but a wine I'd be happy to try in later vintages.

$22 via Last Bottle. Pale ruby with garnet hues. Cherry and red berry flavors. Average Sonoma pinot.
