Drinking very well right now with enough balanced oak and tannins present for at least another 5-8 years under proper cellaring conditions. Good QPR wine, definitely recommended, paired with Croatian high country Slavonian Cobanac meat stew for our dinner club. Bought on site, our last Croatian wine from that trip. An interesting entry level field blend of local Babic, Plavina, and Lasin grapes from Croatia's best regarded winery. Much harsher, simplistic and monolithic when younger but drinking very well right now and starting a good drinking window with a lot more balance and much softer now. Nose big and aromatic with dark fruit, kitchen spices and black peppper. Alcohol and tannins present but well controlled, full bodied with a long lingering aftertaste. Big flavors - dark fruit, oak, coffee, grilled meats and smoke. Score improvement of possibly 1 more point expected with further aging.

The Croatian R6 Riserva field blend from a Northern Dalmatia vineyard planted with equal parts Lasin, Plavina, and Babic, all grape varietals unique and local to this part of Croatia. They are also not so distant relatives of American Zinfandel or Italian Primitivo. Bibich harvests the entire vineyard on the same day and collects and co-ferments all the grapes together.
The wine is ruby red in color, and on the nose dark and fruity with spice and hints of herbs de Provence. On the palate, the spice is rounded by nice bright cherry, hints of bittersweet chocolate and earth. A lovely change of pace and palate for a Monday night hearty stew of chicken and lentils.

Bold and rough. Tight tannins and great structure. Grapey nose. Good grip on the finish. Then soft black fruits and a confected element. Has promise but oddly ended up too international in styling.
