Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 75 points

  • Very pale rosé colour - a just distinguishable blush. Nose with green apples, some red apple peel, some smoke and dust, hints of grassy green notes. Light on the palate with prominent acidity already from the attack, tart green apples all the way through (and not much other fruit in evidence), but not much in terms of concentration of (apple) fruit, and an acid-dominated aftertaste. I guess it can be called fresh, and it is resonably pure in its flavours, but that's about the only positive things I can think of. Not much fruit, lean and rather mean, hardly any rosé character, not much pleasure to be derived from drinking it. Might be useful as (white) cooking wine, but not for much else. 75 pts and that's perhaps a bit on the generous side.

Supposed to be 80% Cab S and 20% Merlot. My guess would be that those were seriously underripe grapes that could never have gone into a red wine without ruining it.
