Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • {screwcap, 14.5%} Deep ruby red. Nose of vanilla bean, blackberries, black pepper. The palate has a malty oak flavour, reserved raspberry fruit, some woody notes, plenty of warmth - too much really, and a fumey medium length finish. There’s a prune and raisin-like dearth of freshness which I can’t get away from. Medium body, with simple low/medium dusty tannins, low acidity, and a warm finish. All front-of-tongue, the mid-palate and beyond is almost left alone. Cellaring might mature it a bit, but I don’t think it’s destined for greatness.
